10 Okt Model 2100 Water in Fuel Sensors: Unparalleled Precision and Reliability
Introducing our new line of Water in Fuel sensors – 2100 WIF sensor – Revolutionizing Diesel Fuel Management.
October 2024, (Warwick, UK) The 2100 series Water in Fuel (WIF) sensor delivers a new standard in diesel water detection. By utilizing cutting-edge capacitance measurement technology, the 2100 series precisely identifies the presence of water within diesel fuel filter housing assemblies. Its innovative two-wire design, devoid of any moving parts, ensures robust and enduring performance, even in the most demanding environments.
The 2100 series sensors boasts a fully sealed, leak-proof construction, eliminating the risk of corrosion or contamination. Constructed from fuel-tolerant 25% GF Acetal Copolymer (POM-C), the sensor’s sensing location is strategically positioned 50mm (2”) from the mating surface, ensuring optimal detection capabilities. An external Viton O-ring guarantees a secure and reliable seal, while the integrated connector facilities seamless re-use during filter replacements.
Engineered for versatile installation, the 2100 series sensor can be mounted vertically or horizontally, accommodating diverse application requirements. While designed for use in separated fluids. It is important to note that this sensor is not intended for emulsified mixtures of water and diesel.
The model 2100 operates on a supply voltage of 3.3 to 5VDC, with power consumption under 1mW at 5VDC. Its binary output ranges from 22-90µA in diesel and 100-200µA in water, achieving switching and power-on times under 0.55 and 0.53 seconds respectively. The sensor maintains functionality across a wide temperature range of -20ºC to 155ºC with storage capability from -40ºC to 125ºC.
Designed to withstand application pressures up to 10 PSI, the 2100 features a ½” -20 UNF thread with J1926 straight thread O-ring, and an integrated Ampseal-16.2 way connector with gold-plated terminals. The sensor boasts an IP67 ingress rating when mated. It demonstrates robust radiated immunity from 250 MHz to 6 GHz per ISO 11452-2, and bulk current injection immunity from 0.5 MHz to 400 MHz at 60 mA to ISO 11452-4.this device can endure vibration levels of 15.3 Grms across 3 orthogonal planes for 3 hours per plane, as per BS EN 60068-2-64: 1993, and with stands drops from 1 meter onto concrete. Accessories in include C/K17 Ampseal-16 2-way connectors with terminal and wire seals.
